Any idea if this fixes the issue transferring radio frequencies from the G3X to the SL40 radio?

Rich-
I loaded the 8.70 Firmware to the Garmin GDU 375. I Did Not find that it changed anything ref to frequency transfer
to the SL 40 radio. I flew with it and found what seems to be some little tricks as to WHEN it changes over to the loaded
frequencies when flying from point A to B.
Feel free to call and I can elaborate: 760-200-0448
Steve
I made another little video with me playing with it for you-

I loaded 8.7 today and lost the direct transfer function of a single frequency. That's really all I used. I wish I had read this thread before updating. If anyone figures out how to get that feature back please post. I like Steve's method but don't necessarily want to change my destination just to get a single frequency.

Jon,
I tried several different airports and couldn't get any to transfer. I typically fly between 3 local airports with different AWOS frequencies and that's the only method I've ever used. Flew today and couldn't get any of them to transfer. Not sure if this matters but I did not update any of the other databases.

As far as the transfer goes, I find that first the airport must be selected as a "Go Direct" TO airport. Second the frequencies seem to only show up in the radio after I get CLOSER to the destination airport. i.e. if I select GO DIRECT to Palm Springs while on the ground at Thermal ( 20 mile flight) the Palm Springs frequencies do Not show up until I'm down the road 10-12 miles Towards Palm Springs. If I'm flying,
selecting Go Direct to any airport puts the frequencies in at that time.

I flew today and confirmed I have lost the ability to direct input a single frequency. After 30 minutes on hold Garmin tech support said it should work. They took my information and said they would pass it on to engineering and respond back via e-mail. Not holding my breath! I like Steve's method for transferring all frequencies. I do prefer the direct input method for switching a single frequency. Hope to somehow get that feature back.

I have also lost communication to the Dynon DEK D180 and no longer get wind speed and direction nor fuel and time at waypoint. Very frustrating!!!!!!

I'm going to Oshkosh tomorrow and will discuss these issues with Garmin. I've been flying Garmin for decades and I've never been disappointed with their customer service until now. I hope to get some answers this week. At the very least I'll make sure they are aware of the problems we're having.
