I just discovered a glitch with my G3X update. Since updating to 8.6 and installing map data base updates, I can no longer get the radio frequencies to "Auto Transfer" to my SL 40 Radio. I spent 1 hour on the phone with Garmin and they asked me to check the MFD COMM PORT CONFIGUARATION. And this is what they asked me to set it to after several failed attempts:
RS-232 1 is set to Garmin VHF Comm
RS-232 2 is set to GTX TIS-A In (I believe this lets my Zaon traffic device communicate with the G3X).
I tried this but it still wont transfer the radio frequencies over to the SL 40.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Rich
you need to know which inputs the CubCrafters factory originally set up on your G3X.
The ones you used may not be correct.
i have the same problem with TIS.
Bill
Edit: Does your TIS work?

Does anyone have the standard settings Cubcrafters used for the G3X comm ports?
Pressing enter on a radio frequency on the G3X used to move that frequency to the standby position on the SL40. I am confused as to why this stopped working with the update. 8.6.
Well I hope this might help? First it appears that there is no way to just hit enter and transfer one frequency from the GDU375 to the SL40. Yet better- It Transfers ALL the frequencies so it seems! I made this fast little movie to show the frequency transfer. Note that in the movie, I show only entering a route or destination to get the frequencies to transfer to the SL40. I find that all I have to do is to Display the
airport as before, and ALL the frequencies are transferred over to the SL40!
See the video and see what you think...

Thanks Steve. This is good but I still miss the direct transfer of a single frequency, especially for big airports with many frequencies.
Well the way I'm seeing it work, is the SL40 now has All the frequencies of the big airport Stored with just a twist of the frequency knob to display and select what you want, while allowing the GDU375 to be on any other page desired. Actually I look at it as a nice enhancement with all the stored frequencies labeled and instantly available in the SL40 without the requirement to be on the
Frequency page on the GDU375. With All the frequencies stored in the SL40 the Direct "swap" transfer is very easy and fast!
Have to play with it tomorrow in practice more.....
