Looks great! How has it been flying so far? Have you finished your 40 hours yet?
Where did you get that control panel? I’m assuming you just modified the unit that Clamar ships? My Clamar floats should be shipping sometime in July so I was looking for a clean way to add the gear controls to my panel. I was thinking of putting something like yours where my USB/lighter plug is now.

Greg,
The clamar amphib control on my dash was a 'roll your own' version I did myself. Simple LED lights + heavy duty momentary up/down switch.
Mitch custom made that placard for me along with the top of the dash switch row and the lvl button circle.
I'm flying off my 40 hours now going through the EAA test flight manual (highly recommended).
Hope to be at Oshkosh for judging and then possibly Camp CubCrafters.

Here is an IFR panel going in an Ex3 7A6918E6-B53D-4A93-921F-C8ECFDCF0AD2.jpg
Gordon, Looks great!
Not sure about that blue level button though...

I like it Gordon! Is that the Aerocet gear selector?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the community and excited to start building. My EX3 kit should be delivered by Halloween. Between now and then, I'm busy preparing my workspace, gathering tools and most importantly refining my IFR panel design! Below is a drawing of the proposed panel. If anyone has any suggestion on how to make it better, please let them be known.
Equipment:
- G3X
- G5 standby flight instruments with it's own independent AHARS
- GNX 375 WAAS GPS navigator with built in transponder with ADS-B in and out (no comm or ILS)
- GTR 200 single comm, can monitor a second frequency
- VP-X digital circuit breakers, offers more info, programing/flexibility and cleans up the panel
- Lightspeed electronic ignition for the IO360 engine
Thoughts:
- If I loose the G3X screen, I'll still have the standby attitude indicator, the panel mounted radio and GPS along with all critical switches. I'll also be left with four critical warning lights. This is the only reason they mounted on the panel. The main thing I'll lose during a screen failure is the ability to control the auto pilot.

Looks like a great panel. You might want to have the G5 swap sides with your radios. That way you can tune radios with your left hand and fly with your right.
I would also move my headset jack to under the panel. I am not sure why they put them in the left header, other than that’s where they’ve always gone. I installed mine with an adel clamp in front of the avionics tray. No more headset cords hanging in the way of the open window, etc.

I did the same in the backseat but went in the sidewall with a USB charger.

This makes for a clutter free header panel. Disregard the empty ELT hole. It will get covered by a placard. Whoops!

Enjoy the build!
