    Post Transition to Digital Documents

    Attention All Owners:

As the fleet continues to grow, we are looking to improve the way we supply necessary information to owners. Traditionally, updates to manuals have been printed and shipped to each owner. Service documents have also been handled this way. We are now making the transition to a digital publications system.

What does this mean for owners?

    Email Updates
Document releases will now be announced via email and contain a summary of updates as well as links to the viewable/printable document(s) on the website. Emails for service instructions and other documents which have associated parts kits will soon have direct links to our online store so that purchasing these kits will only be a few clicks away.

    Online Documents
The Owner Support section of our website currently contains PDF versions of released manuals and service documents. We are working towards updating this page to be more user-friendly as it will be the primary document source for owners. This will likely mean that we will separate the manual files into sections so that only the updated sections need to be printed, as well as make the webpage filterable by aircraft serial/registration number.

Currently, we have owner mailing addresses, phone numbers, and emails on record in accordance with ASTM F2295 Section 5.4.2. If your contact information has changed it can be updated online here.

    Summary
Continued airworthiness documents will soon be no longer mailed out. Owners will instead receive email updates notifying them of recent updates and/or newly released documents. Opting to receive printed updates will still remain an option, but a cost may be incurred in the future. Service Alerts (those requiring immediate action) will likely remain as a mailing to each owner.

Feel free to post below or contact us personally by phone or email with questions or comments.

Ok, so the maintenance manual prints standard size but the AFM is 5.5x8.5 size paper. Trying to avoid cutting every single page and punching holes to fit the flight manual notebook carried in the aircraft. Any tips or tricks??

The files we currently have up online for the POH's appear full sized (8.5 x 11). We have a print friendly version that we use in house that is converted so that it prints 2 half sheets a side, front and back (think [x][x] instead of [ X ]). We then print an entire section, cut it in half once, fold the halves together, and hole punch once.

Once Jon gets back from OSH and we configure the owner support page a bit more we will have those versions available online.

An oft forgotten problem with electronic docs is that it is not a one size fits all. In many parts of the world, such as New Zealand, we use A4 paper not US Letter.

While you can buy US letter it is $US50 per ream compared with about $US4 for A4.

Hopefully there is an elegant way to solve this.

While this was not taken into account when creating the original documents, you may be able to work around it on your end. When printing the PDF, you can select your paper size (A4) and set the page scaling to "fit to printable area" or something similar. This will effectively shrink the entire contents to fit on the page, whether it be a single full sized letter page, or dual 8.5" x 5.5" pages on a single letter page. The margins for our documents are typically 1/2" on the sides, so scaling may not even be required.

If that option doesn't work, we may be able to work something out. Feel free to contact customer support.

    For reference:
    A4 = 210.0 mm X 297.0 mm (8.26 in X 11.69 in)
    US Letter = 215.9 mm X 279.4 mm (8.50 in X 11.00 in)
