Weather looks halfway decent for the Pacific Northwest tomorrow, Saturday March 6. Anyone up for meeting up somewhere?
I'd been thinking about breakfast at The Barn at Prosser WA, but I'm open to other ideas.

I am in the middle of packing and moving but I may have a student tomorrow, if so, we are planning to fly to copalis for beach landing practice as part of the TW endorsement and the weather and tide is right.. We could hook up at HQM?
It would be good to see you again Jeff, but we will have more opportunities as the weather improves and more daylight!

Geo, let me know if it turns out that you'll be flying; I'm wide open.

Darn, a little more notice and I would have joined you!

I've been in touch with a couple of folks on the Pacific Northwest Flying board, and it looks like we'll gather at Port Townsend (0S9) at 0900 local tomorrow. If anybody can make it, join the fun.

I took off from Pearson (KVUO) at 0700 to meet up with some folks from the Pacific Northwest Flying message board at Port Townsend (0S9) at 0900. Morning ground fog in the low-lying valleys enroute made for some interesting photos.
After breakfast I decided to make it an "Olympic Peninsula Tour". I'd never been west of Port Angeles before, so I continued west from 0S9 out toward the extreme northwest corner of the Lower 48, then followed the coastline south to Hoquiam (KHQM). By then it was time to refuel and have lunch.
I was tempted to land on the sand at Copalis Beach (S16). The tide was low, but there were a lot of cars and pedestrians on the "runway," so I deferred that for another day.
It was a beautiful day, and there is no better platform from which to take in the scenery than a Sport Cub.
