Number one, you don't need an FAA medical certificate to fly PIC in a Carbon Cub or Sport Cub S2 ...

Carbon Cub has the lowest useful load among the 180 hp models you mentioned, but at its 1320-lb gross weight the performance is jaw-dropping.

...and if you build a Carbon Cub EX to Experimental Amateur-Built standard then the useful load is even higher (1850 lb. gross weight--sorry not eligible for Sport Pilot). Weight is your enemy in the airplane world. When you add empty weight, then you need more horsepower to perform at the same level, which means more fuel, which means more weight, which means more horsepower.... You can see the way it explodes out of control. Having flown the Husky, a PA-18 Super Cub and the Carbon Cub, there is really no comparison. I suggest you fly all of them to find out for yourself, but the Super Cub and the Husky seem like "flying Suburbans" after the Carbon Cub. Heck even the 100 hp Sport Cub is almost on par with the other 2 "heavy" airplanes, IMO.

Do a back to back to back fly-off comparison. That will tell you everything you need to know.

Matrix guy, I sent you a PM this morning. I'm an old Piper salesman. That has nothing to do with Cubs but I come from the same direction as a malibu if it helps. I've worked for CC in the past as well. Flown lots of Cubs. Lots of the dogs too...and thats what they are. If you want to talk over phone about them, feel free to ring me. Number is in the PM.

If you're big or have long legs, the CarbonCub wins. I can't fly either Top Cub or Husky at 6'5" and 37" inseam. Performance and comfort, can't beat it.
