    Default Cross Country

Last weekend was spent flying a Top Cub cross county. Usually we farm out these trips so I can stay home and keep up with the demands of the business. With several big H’s on the prog charts and the enticement of one of my favorite airplanes to be flown, this trip could not be turned down. It’s good for the mind to get out and do a trip of this nature. Furthermore it’s even better to do it in a great airplane……one made by CubCrafters! We (Top Cub and I) flew 2.5 days, 1500 NM, checked Wx once before leaving home, no flight plans and operated in silence, the way it should be. In my opinion there is no better way to see the country. If something looks good, go look at it. If the area is of more interest, land. It just doesn’t get any better!

    Hear, hear, Ben!!

Trips like yours and the one I took back in Oct are why we fly in the first place. I get a real chuckle from all the pilot people that we meet that absolutely feel compelled to report to an ATC/FAA facility while flying.

Flying without a radio is pure. I like to only use the radio when I need it.

    Merry Christmas everyone.
