    Default Trim Position Indicator

I'm wondering if anyone has installed or figured out what type of trim position indicator system or lights could work on our Carbon Cubs. Any input would be greatly appreciated....thanks.

We have done one, it had a sending unit in the tail and displayed on the EMS portion of the Dynon D180.

Thanks Pete - I've got a very basic panel (no Dynon) so I'm looking for something pretty simple...any other suggestions?

This basic stand alone indicator from a trim motor mfr. might work: //www.rayallencompany.com/products/indsens.html

Fantastic Will...thanks very much! Exactly what I had in mind. Seems like a light, functional, and well priced product.

Don't know about you but I like grip on my stick, so to speak, and they've got a nice selection of those as well - and what seems like pretty good prices too.

    Again, thanks.

Oh, and welcome to the forums Sal. I had a great time getting your plane home to you and look forward to meeting you face to face sometime.

I too was originally worried about a trim indicator. But now after three years with the airplane, I would urge you to fly it a while before adding anything.

I look at the position of the trim during pre-flight and it reminds me if I had a pile of gear in the rear seat during the last flight. If so, I might make minor corrections during run-up. To be honest, the more I fly it, the less trim I use. Ralph

Thanks Ralph....wow, 3 years, that's fabulous! We're a pretty fortunate group to own/fly these incredible machines.

I agree, in fact on preflight the trim is never very far away from the decal limits so I just use the same trim as what I landed with and it works fine.
