I have been flying with my new prop for a few weeks now.
Its way smoother than my old prop and the new metal leading edge is a huge improvement over the tape.
My old prop was a 54 pitch.
Right now with the smaller 8.5 tires i get a IAS of 105 mph at 2250 rpm at 6500'.
That translates into about half throttle but i'm not sure what the fuel burn is.
Catto redid my old prop with the new edge and also informed me that my old prop was out of balance. If anyone out there still has the old style prop i would really recommend sending it back and getting the new edge expecially if they feel their plane is not that smooth. (Catto was great to work with, a really nice guy)
As is to be expected take off is a little longer although over all climb in FPM is not really reduced much just have to hold a little higher airspeed.
I like having the cruise prop for traveling but will go back to the 54 and 29" tires this summer for off airport work.
