    Default Tie Downs

    Randy

We just had a few days of strong gusty winds in the North Country.
What has Cubcrafters done to address the tie down areas of the wing to prevent damage to the wing? (Struts, spars) The winds seem to have damaged several PA-18 in the Palmer Wasilla area.

    Thanks again
    Mark

Our wing tiedown rings are stainless steel and are attached right at the strut/spar intersection. That's one of the strongest areas on the aircraft. If you have wind strong enough to fail those rings then you probably have other parts of the aircraft that have already been ripped off.
