    Default Air Streaks

Hey I am thinking af putting 26 inch Airstreaks on my S2 but before I do I thought I would see if anyone had any reason not to. Let me know what you think good and bad. I have 8.50's now.

Reasons NOT to: they are a bit more expensive, they do add some drag so you cruise speed will take a hit, and they do wear faster (when operated on pavement).

Reasons TO get them: if you like to land off airport, especially more challenging places with rocks or rougher terrain then they are the only way to go. Be sure and manage the air pressure closely, they won't absorb the rocks and so on if they have too much air pressure in them.

Most owners that I talk to who have fitted them are glad they did.

One more reason for Bushwheels. In case on an emergency off-airport landing, there is a much better chance the aircraft will still be sunny side up when it comes to a stop, especially if heavy braking is involved. BTW, I have not noticed any change in cruise speed with Bushwheels, possibly because I use a bit more throttle for the same engine rpm.
