    WIRING VIDEOS AND CHART

I posted these 2 videos and wiring chart in my thread on Building the EX3 - Tips & Hints under the wiring posts but thought it might be handy for others interested in the wiring. http://forum.cubcrafters.com/showthr...light=ex3+tips

The Wiring Chart is an attachment here at the bottom that you can download. It's an Excel Spreadsheet that is simple to use by just telling you where each wire (by number) goes.

Video 1 is just over an hour long and shows getting the wiring all in place:

Video #2 is almost 30 minutes and shows the completed wiring all bundled and complete:

I am amazed how much I have forgotten since wiring the EX seven years ago. Just watched your video. It was a great refresher course. Thanks for posting.

I am working through the Part 91 Maintenance Manual wiring schematics from CubCrafters, in particular the EX2 Ignition System circuit. In the middle of the page 7, there is a component called a Radio Frequency Noise Filter Assembly (SC56080-003) which is required to prevent interference in the LED ignition monitoring lights. SI00024 refers.

I do not have that component, but it is apparently a small rubber shielded capacitor, but has no voltage or capacitance rating attached to the schematic to define its specification for installation. Does anyone have this information, such that I can obtain the correct capacitor locally?

I was told that is a 470pF 50V capacitor. I have not seen that service bulletin and I don't believe I have that overvoltage module (im still building). I was referencing page 4 of the executive glass manual when I was given the information for the above capacitor.

Thank you for that information, maybe the capacitor is only required for the Executive Glass option, I would have thought the capacitor would be aligned to that panel choice. I do not have the executive glass panel and do not have the Radio Noise filter, so perhaps that explains my lack of that component.

It’s my understanding that it is to limit noise from the LEDs. If you are using those then I think you would need the capacitor.

The capacitor that is part of the SC56080-003 assembly is used to prevent the LED from illuminating when transmitting on the radio in certain frequency ranges, not to filter noise from the LED to the radio. It was found that transmitting on certain frequencies on the COM radio would illuminate the LEDs dimly and this SC56080 was added to filter that out.
