    Default Topcub Options--in future?

Is it being planned, worked on, or is any intention of obtaining IFR certification for TopCub?

The same goes for the 3rd Seat? I know the older a STC can be done, but will the current standards permit it for a new Topcub?

    Thanks,

    Z.

IFR certification requirements have changed over the years and now include a lightning protection requirement. Older tube & fabric designs may have IFR certs because they received their type certificates before the requirement went in place. It would be very difficult for a tube and fabric airplane to comply with lightning protection, and the testing alone would be *very* expensive so retrofitting the Top Cub with an IFR cert is not in our plan at this time.

Same rationale with the seats...higher "g" requirements for safety are required in the later amendments of FAR 23.
