    Default EX-3 Elevator trim tabs

    Dumb question of the day...

Why are there trim tabs on the elevator when we have trim on the stabilizer?

    Thanks, John

The elevator for the EX/FX3 was changed with the inboard, aft end modified (squared off more) to accept the trim tab. I'm sure it's just one of those little adjustments they found improvement from.
Thanks Dave. I did see those two posts about it. When I previously asked about rib stitching vs rivets I actually got a technical answer from a retired CC engineer. I was hopeful this time.

The orientation of the tab will cause more nose down trim, so I don't think it is there to compensate for the heavier prop/eng. Improved airflow doesn't mean much to me. I was hoping for a specific reason.

    Thanks, John
