    Default EX3 Defrost Fan

Flying in the north I wanted a way to defrost and keep the window clear while flying in the winter and on skis. I know you can open a window, but that’s cold! I started by ordering this aluminum flange and was trying to figure out a way to mate the square fan with the round tube. It didn’t go well... So I asked my 13 year old if he thought he could print something on his 3D printer. 10 minutes later he had a good looking prototype! After a couple of rounds of refinement we had the perfect solution. The fan is 52cfm and blows about as strong as a hairdryer on low. It’s printed out of ABS so it should be pretty heat resistant. Total weight is 5oz.

I like that. Nice clean sweeping installation. 3D printers are amazing.

Here’s a link to what a couple of us did on defrosters too.
