    Default Alternator wiring Questions

I am double checking on the alternator wiring for my EX2.

The Field 12V wire goes to the spade connector on the back of the Denso alternator nearest the IG mark on the black plastic connector housing (?yes). The CC wiring diagram shows a loop of wire to the other connector labeled as A09D20O - so ?nothing is attached to this other spade connector except a loop of wire which is to electrically isolate this connector?

    Thanks in advance.

This was the best shot of the factory harness and connector I could find in my build photos.

    Thanks Pete!

Great picture. That explains it. The "L" spade just has a loop of wire back to itself. That's what I thought it should be.

    Slowly.

The significance of the field portion of that connector may not be readily apparent. It is important to make the best crimp possible, and not a bad idea to pot the connector with RTV for additional stress relief. Loss of the field can eventually result in having a very bad day if the required flight time is longer than the batteries will last.
