June 18. The Expedition group paid visits to the Department of Interior (they fly CubCrafters' Top Cubs) and Airframes Alaska (manufacturer of Alaskan Bushwheels).

"Today was a pretty neat day here in Anchorage. We started out by visiting the maintenance facility that work on all the planes operating for the Department of Interior here in Alaska. It was interesting learning what it takes to operate and maintain a fleet of planes that fly in temperatures down to -40 degrees and has to transition between wheels, floats, and skis as conditions change. Eye-opening insight on what it takes to fly in some of the most remote parts of Alaska under the toughest conditions. We then went over to Airframes Alaska where all Alaskan Bushwheels are handcrafted. The crew got to pick the brain of the head engineer asking about construction and best practices. It's amazing how much time and care goes into producing one tire. We can attest that these things are not coming off a production line in bulk. Each tire is handcrafted and meticulously tested. There is a reason the Alaskan Bushwheel is the unrivaled champion for off-airport use."

June 19. The Expedition begins the return journey south. "Today we began the journey South taking a different route than the one that brought us to Anchorage. This path is more inland but as we are coming to learn Alaska is beautiful in all directions. We passed many glaciers and mountain ranges on our way to Whitehorse. I think one of the highlights was an airplane that crashed more than 60 years ago high in the Canadian Rockies."
