June 12. "Most agreed the route between Yakutat and Valdez will be one of our life’s top memories. Glaciers on a scale unimaginable seen from the point of view only flying can give you. Piloting between cotton candy blue icebergs the size of buildings, shooting over cliffs with 200 foot water falls, mountains going from sea level to 19,000 feet, and beach landings to check out Cold War remnants are just a few highlights from the day. I know we’ve said it before, but the photos capture about 2% of the magic this land has to offer. Even if you can’t make it with us in the years to follow please try to make your way up here at some point in your life. You will not be disappointed."

June 19. The Expedition begins the return journey south. "Today we began the journey South taking a different route than the one that brought us to Anchorage. This path is more inland but as we are coming to learn Alaska is beautiful in all directions. We passed many glaciers and mountain ranges on our way to Whitehorse. I think one of the highlights was an airplane that crashed more than 60 years ago high in the Canadian Rockies."

June 8. "We are starting to get into some terrain now. Every mile the scenery gets more stunning. Words truly fail to describe what it’s like to fly through the landscape up here. Pictures do it zero justice. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. We flew through lite rain and snow on our way north, but that just added to the adventure. Bear, moose, mountains goats, and buffalo have all been spotted along the journey."

Jun 13. "Valdez to Anchorage. Today we found a few more glaciers and icebergs. It seems Alaska has a near endless supply, yet each one is more impressive than the last. Flying over and through these massive wonders of nature will never get old. We then went to the top of a pass where the glaciers are born. The views and peaks are out of this world. It's a humbling experience to surf down the back of a glacier over blue pools of water. The color in the photos is 100% untouched. If anything those pools look bluer in real life. What's a day in Alaska without a little road taxiing?"

Mr. Sasser shot some video during his time on the Expedition. There are some great shots!

June 20. The Great Alaska Expedition is nearing the journey's end. "Today on our trek south we flew the legendary Canadian Trench. With mountains on both sides and a perfect river running down the middle, we flew over waters that look more at home in the Caribbean than in the remote backcountry of Canada. There were times we would fly for an hour or more without seeing anything man had touched. This northern landscape is something to behold."

Another shout-out to Christopher Cram for the amazing photography!
