June 12. "Most agreed the route between Yakutat and Valdez will be one of our lifeís top memories. Glaciers on a scale unimaginable seen from the point of view only flying can give you. Piloting between cotton candy blue icebergs the size of buildings, shooting over cliffs with 200 foot water falls, mountains going from sea level to 19,000 feet, and beach landings to check out Cold War remnants are just a few highlights from the day. I know weíve said it before, but the photos capture about 2% of the magic this land has to offer. Even if you canít make it with us in the years to follow please try to make your way up here at some point in your life. You will not be disappointed."

Jun 13. "Valdez to Anchorage. Today we found a few more glaciers and icebergs. It seems Alaska has a near endless supply, yet each one is more impressive than the last. Flying over and through these massive wonders of nature will never get old. We then went to the top of a pass where the glaciers are born. The views and peaks are out of this world. It's a humbling experience to surf down the back of a glacier over blue pools of water. The color in the photos is 100% untouched. If anything those pools look bluer in real life. What's a day in Alaska without a little road taxiing?"

Bear, moose, mountains goats, and buffalo have all been spotted along the journey."
    What a great trip!

Too much going on! With the Johnson Creek Fly-In distracting me, I've been unable to pass along images from the Great Alaska Expedition. Here is a catch-up from the weekend...

June 15. The group had the unique opportunity to fly among the icebergs! See the video:

"I think one of the memories that will stick with us most from the Alaska Expedition will be the iceberg fields we flew through. We are a little past halfway through the journey and already have experienced some of the best flying most of us have ever done. I now see why Alaska is the last frontier. This is why we fly taildraggers."

June 16. "The weather in Anchorage has been a little challenging the last few days. Some of the crew are out getting their floatplane ratings, while others went north spotting wildlife along the way. A little wind doesn't detract from Alaska's diverse landscape."

June 17.Today we got to test some of our off-airport skills landing on gravel and sandbars just outside of Anchorage. The diversity and number of backcountry strips is hard to comprehend. Everywhere you look there are places to put down and explore. We also saw a pretty interesting house on our way home. We are having a great time up here in Alaska.

Great photos. Is it possible to have some of them available to download as Hi-Rez / Hi-Def to use for a desktop screen?

    Thanks,
    Lee

I don't know. They belong to TacAero (they gave me permission to share). I'll ask Aaron there.
