Default Oil filter part # cc340

The CC store shows a 48110-1 in the photo but 48108-1 in the description.
Which is correct? Not at the hangar so I can't look at mine.

Has anyone used Tempest spinez? Do they come off better?

I've just done my first 10 hour oil change.

I asked the CC guys at Oshkosh what the filter size was and advised to get the 48108.

The one that I took off though was a 48162.

The 48108 has the same threaded fitting and seal flange size and fits OK although it is a wider diameter.

There are no filter specifications in the CC340 manual.

Are there any pros/cons over using either one of these other than a tiny weight saving with the 48162?

Mark, I put the 108 on during my last oil change. It’s fatter and a bit of a pain to maneuver around the engine mount and oil line to get it on. It will make a mess when it comes off for sure. The narrower 162 goes on easy. I couldn’t find a 168 locally so that is why I used the 108. I have since ordered a couple of 162 filters.

The 48162 is listed as only applying to the Cessna 162 and the O200D engine which didn't seem quite right. But many people have used the K&N HP1002 as a smaller substitute for the 48108.

This looks to be Tempest's answer to that demand.

I had several spare 48108s available in the hangar, but will switch back to the 48162 at the next change.

    Thanks Jake for the confirmation.
