Default Shoot holes in this one...

I love to shop airplanes, its fun to see what folks say and do, and how they present things
    here are the facts

    2013 Carbon Cub
    60 hours TT
It has had 2 annual inspections, late 2014 and last week, 2018
the plane hasnt flown since oct 2014
has been started and run every three months and brought up to temp on ground
compressions excellent last week at annual
always hangared in mid atlantic, not coastal but lots of humidity in summer

I say the cam is toast, the owner disagrees and is hesitant to pull a cyl to look around

    Your advice?

    Let the fun begin

Generally accepted fact that you cannot get an engine "up to temp" with a ground run. Usually does more damage than good. Gets the engine just warm enough to condensate more moisture as it cools down, but not enough to cook the existing moisture out of the oil.

How does the dipstick look up at the top under the cap? Condensation/mayonnaise looking?

Could pull the rocker covers, check for rust on the inside and condensation evidence there too.

I'm curious to hear the end of this story..

Will do Pete. This bird has a few more niceties than mine, namely the cabin heat and ext baggage that I would really like. Don't know that we will get together on price

It's kind of a different bird in that it hasn't flown. It sounded to me like the owner life has expanded to the point that it sucks up every minute
Will let you know what I find out

Do you feel the titans are built with superior materials that weren't available 50 years ago?
