Default Adhesive for metal and composite components

I am searching for the name and supplier of the methacrylate adhesive currently supplied in EX kits. Previously it was specified as ITW Plexus MA832, but this product is now unavailable. Unfortunately, this adhesive was never supplied in my kit and I cannot find a suitable or approved substitute.

I am in the doldrums with methacrylate. I build in 'fits and spurts'.

My kit, delivered in 2015, was issued with the single tube version of PLEXUS MA832 GB (10:1) 380 ML. I have discovered it has a shelf life of less than a year and my remaining tube is not usable. I wasn't paying attention.

I ordered a tube of methacrylate from Cub Crafters and was surprised to find it was now a double barreled cartridge. That means a different gun and mixing tubes from the one shown. Some time in 2017 Cub Crafters changed supplier hence the change in cartridge design.

I'm wondering if anyone has the two barreled gun version they would loan or sell. The new gun is some over $130 I am told.

Your two barreled cartridges look different? I'm interested if it works with this cartridge. I just got this two barreled one from Cub Crafters.

Do you have any extra mixing tubes for this double barreled version? When I compare the different cartridges the tubes have to be different as well.

CubCrafters is also using Click Bond. I have purchased this :

    https://www.theflightshop.com/Cataspx299.html

for use on my panel to bond aluminum reinforcing angles to the back of the panel to avoid riveting. This should lead to a very smooth panel without rivets visible.

This might be an option for you.

We use click bond in some of the custom instrument panel work to avoid riveting, in our case the material is too thin to allow a countersink and dimples are not always an option for us on some things.

I would want to compare the properties of the two, Im not saying that you should or shouldnt substitute click bond for methacrylate but I would want an across the board comparison of their properties before making that substitution. A brace behind a panel is a far different application that what we typically use methacrylate for on the fuselages.

Just 2 cents, and the thought of having to take it apart if finding out its not appropriate would not be easy

Still looking for someone who might loan or sell a two barreled methacrylate gun / dispenser used in CC kits since 2017. The new gun is some over $130 I am told.

See pictures earlier in this thread showing the old gun and the 'new' cartridge that are not compatible.
