    I would like to see some video of them working in rough truly off airport landings. I don't doubt the above statements but I wonder how well they keep the tires in contact with the ground as compared to conventional gear with AOSS or Acme suspension? In places where you need to be braking to get stopped in time. Where bouncing adds to stopping distance.

    What Dan has pictured is no sweat in an XCub with the Grove aluminum spring gear. But for the really rough STOL stuff a Carbon Cub on conventional gear is still the ultimate. Especially equipped with the Gen3 Acme suspension the boys in Charlotte are introducing shortly.

    For us, it boiled down to wanting to be in our Carbon Cub whenever we were flying challenging off-airport environments, and our XCub everywhere else.

    I'd like to demo an X Cub in the place I have pictured below.

    Where I landed was actually a couple of hundred yards downstream from the top picture. If you look close in the top picture there are four moose moving through.
