    Default XCub Payload

We've added a new post to the CubCrafters Blog with a video about XCub, baggage, and CG.

My wife has decided that her new XCub has some gender equality issues: with her flying and me in the back seat, the W&B only allowed for 70lbs of cargo. More than that would push us outside the CG envelope. FYI, for those lighter pilots.

Strictly speaking, that has nothing to do with gender................

Strictly speaking, I thought it was just a light hearted comment about his weight in the back compared to her weight in the front and the concern for the CG. I hope comments, like this very innocent comment, won't be scrutinized for PC in the future, we have an over abundance if it already.

Well, it's not strictly untrue: male humans typically weigh more than females, on average.

In our case, she's 50lbs lighter than I am. It is her plane, and she's PIC and sitting in the front, and as a result, I was surprised by how little cargo we were able to load without creating an aft CG condition.

I will learn to fly tailwheel soon enough, and then when we fly together and have to take much cargo, I'll be able to take the front. That's good news for me, I suppose!

That's typically true, but unfortunately it may lead the gentler sex to conclude they are better off without us -- at least when it comes to flying their XCubs.

The upside to that, Dane, if T comes to that conclusion, is that you'll get to build your own FX3!
