After reading this thread I purchased a Vernatherm from Cub Crafters and installed it. My sumertime oil temps were running in the mid 160's in cruise flight prior to. A little on the cool side I thought. After the Vernatherm they're in the mid 170's. And I'm hoping they stay in that range once it cools down. Hopefully we cool down soon....

I just changed to the Vernatherm valve and removed the plunger. Prior to this I would tape over bewteen 1/3 to 1/2 of the oil cooler to get above 180 even when we see 90 plus days here in Florida. I have removed all tape on the oil cooler and at 2300 rpm oil temp stays steady at 180 degrees but at 2600 rpm will climb to 195-200 degrees and that's with an OAT 76 degrees. Oil pressure is also higher and goes to 85 lbs (top of the green arc) untill the valve opens at 180 then drops to the usual 78lbs. Since we all seem to agree that our coolers have plenty of cooling capacity, is anyone who has converted to the vernatherm seeing temps above 180 degrees at higher power settings? Also have you seen the higher oil pressure till the valve opens? Pete at CC says hes seeing the higher temps with the CC test plane PC but just checking with others. Best Gary
