    Default Rudder Spring

Had a rudder spring break today. Will reach out to CC on Monday unless someone knows what other options there are. Size etc.

    Thanks for the help.

I had one break as well. I went to home depot and found something close that worked. HOWEVER, the rudder pressure required in steady flight is not equal. It is a pain to change and if you can wait for CC to send a set, do them both at once and save yourself the aggravation. I have the CC set waiting until I have the courage to contort the necessary way to install the new set. FYI I am old and not easily bent.

If it is just the spring that has to be replaced, it can be done with out having to contort so much. Take the longest and thickest piece of welding rod you can find and bend a "Z" in the end of it. Use that to hook the spring and attach it to the bracket at firewall. Easier to show than to write out an explanation for, but it works. Have done it a few times on different and various aircraft.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to recruit a young pilot wanna-be for some assistance in return for an introductory flight!
