Thanks, I figured it was a connection or ground problem. As a former high school physics and chemistry teacher, I knew it must be an indication issue,at idle it couldn't be 1700 degrees. When I looked at the black box data on the SD card, it took two seconds to go from 1700 to 800 and match the other EGTs on downwind. (Glad I am not the only one to see it)

I will check it out again his morning.

Congratulations Jake on getting your AW certificate! And I like the Warbird scheme. Nice work.

On downwind, the EGT jumped back and matched the rest. Took the cowl off and saw no indication of excess heat. (CHTs we're all pretty even between 390-408 on climb out)

We wiggled wires and looked for any shorts in the wires and couldn't duplicate the problem. Not sure how a short would effect EGTs.
If the weather holds, I will fly it again in the AM and see if I can get more than a 0.2. Impressed with the takeoff. 50ft or so. Flew nice and straight.

    Hi Jake

Had same experience down here in the Very Far South. After 90 hours and various part swaps we sorted it out a couple of weeks ago. Which panel do you have?

G3x touch. I built the panel myself last year before CC had it as an option. Pretty sure it's a cold solder joint.
