Question on which model to build

Hello.
My first post, and its a stupid question probably to most of you.
But i hope to get some insight into the world of cub crafter kits...so please forgive my ignorance.
It will be me and my daughter and some camping gear usually.
Trip lengths from maybe just 50 nm up to 500 nm trips.
It doesn't have to be the best at short fields as usually the length will be ample, but occasionally a little beach maybe it.
If i go to add amphibious floats in the future which i hope to which is the best model to build.
And what is a nice tire size for some sand and reasonable sized rocks etc. Without going so huge its slower and users more fuel when just on tires.
I'm busy so it will be a long build I know.
But am okay with that.
I have flown mostly just factory built aluminum skin planes.
Currently have a Cessna182 which i plan to sell once I build a new kit.
My job is helicopter pilot.
But i love planes also.
Plan is to keep it a long time.
Yes I want a radio and gps and modern electronics as well.
Baggage space to hold a tent and sleeping bags and cooler etc.
I am 6'1 and weigh 200. Daughter is 5'6 and weighs 117.

I'm going to guess an EX 2 on 29 or 31 inch tires or so with the cc 180 hp engine?
Add the touch screen panel as an option in the building is a good plan?

Add amphibious floats of some brand a bit later?

Am I asking the wrong questions?
If so am open to advice.

In my opinion 26's are enough for most anything you will encounter. I have landed on soft sand and softball sized rocks without issue on 26's. Put the extra money elsewhere in your options. I used to fly rotorwing in Alaska for Coastal. Welcome to the forum.

The only Build option is the EX2. It has a gross weight of 1865#, the airstreaks are only good for 1700# so that may effect your tire choice. I went with the 31's as the cost difference is not that much more when you need the higher gross tire. I am getting closer to the end and pretty much added every add you could add. It cost more to do later or you may not be able to even do it later. If it is something you may think you want, order it that way at the start, then you will have no regrets.

I looked at an older model half built.
But being partially built by who knows who is a scary idea for my tiny brain to wrap around.
