    Default Question about repair authorization

I would like to be able to wrench on my own bird. My question(s) are as follows:

Does the 2-day course only give you inspection authority on your own e-lsa ?
Do you have to take the 120 hour course to have full maintenance authority ?
If yes to #2, has anyone ever taken the 120 hr course?
Is Rainbow aviation the only school (for Florida or Georgia)?
How do I take 2 weeks off without losing my job ? (just kidding - you don't have to answer that one)

I'm pretty sure Chuck Springloaded took the course (16 hrs). He will know.

The 16 hour course allows you to work on your experimental aircraft and do the condition inspections. Your authorized aircraft will be on your license. The 120 hour course allows you to work on any LSA aircraft.

City Rancher is correct. I did mine with rainbow. They usually have a 2 day course weekend after SunNFun.
Check with them at the show. After the course you will need to go to local FSDO to get the certificate, was pretty painless.

I believe anyone can maintain their experimental aircraft, no matter who built it. Successful completion of the two day course adds inspection authority.
