Default Wood grip from Aircraft Spruce

Do you guys think this would work ? The problem with Cubcrafters stick is the arrangement of the mic button. If you're not paying attention, you could inadvertently key the mic with out knowing it.

Just remember you have a rocker type trim switch on the top of the stick. I don't think you'll find yourself keying the mic by accident. I have seen a few people who have put custom grips on the sticks. They have all had built in switches on them that I've seen.
    If that helps

You're right Chuck - no fitment with the existing rocker switch on the wood grip.

Tom, I don't know if your Sport Cub has single or dual trim. On single trim airplanes, the full motor current runs through that rocker switch, so it's almost impossible to use a different switch without adding a relay box.

Its very difficult to unknowingly key the mic in these cubs. You feel it under your finger, hear it in the side tone, and see it on the Com radio screen if you happen to be looking.

Good point Jon. I would have to find a single axis type switch that would be rated for the same ampacity as the existing one. Then it would be a simple R&R with out having to add a relay.

Let me know if you find a good one. We've looked very hard for a better switch.

Check out an old thread called "CNC stick grip". My stick grip is open at the top and protects the trim switch. You can rest your hand on top without touching the switch. Works great! Photos are attached to the thread. Jake
