Looks great Guillaume! Absolutely beautiful. Let me know when first flight is. If you want/need some top cover for the flight just let me know. Happy to come over and assist.

    Congratulations. It looks dynamite!

I'm sure it will fly as good as it looks. My only suggestion is to land and takeoff on grass for a while if you can.

Thanks. It's been challenging and a lot of fun. And definitely learned a ton!

I'm asking my DAR that my fly-off include 1B2 Katama a grass strip on Martha's Vineyard. He says the Boston FISDO typically only gives 25 miles for 100 mph aircraft!??! I reminded him that the leg is essentially 36 miles of water. He thinks I might get a corridor.

Thanks. I'm hoping George Baker can give me some stick time in his CC before my maiden flight. If he's not, any chance I can do a couple takeoff and landings with you?! I can swap SNJ-5 (T-6) or SR22T time!

Absolutely. Just let me know. Cirrus time I've got plenty of. North American not so much!

You can absolutely apply for and receive the corridor for flight testing. I'd give it a few hours over the mainland though before making that first jump

Great work Guillaume!! Beautiful paint job.
You're going to love this plane. My one word of advice, specifically for landings is force yourself to get down to the speeds that these planes love....50 to 55 wheel and 45 to 50 3-point....and you'll go lot easier on yourself that way. Coming from SR22 approach speeds on approach it took me awhile to feel comfortable at those slow speeds and when I finally did...everything worked out a lot better

Also, stick to the book for break in procedure...you'll thank yourself down the road. For oil consumption, after 200 hours, I'm adding less than a quart in 25 hours.

Good luck with your test flight and fly-off and I'd echo Clay's advice on staying over land for a bit.
    Have fun,
    Paul

No worries, I’m not 'going wet' until I've racked up a few hours (20+ and/or oil stabilizes). I'm really only looking to expand my Phase I Flyoff area (not over water) and looking for defensible arguments to expand this silly 25 Statute mile limit. For some reason, their interpretation of ‘sparsely populated areas’ prefers water instead of sparsely populated woods.

    Paul

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely keep in those speeds.

Did you get some tail time in another CC before soloing yours? Or did you just jump right into it?
