Thanks.
40m, I see you are in Shoreham, I lived in N. Ferrisburgh for about 4 years. Beautiful area.

I’ve never flown the T-3 so I couldn’t tell you about it. But I’ve put the stinger thru hell since last August and it’s done well. It also adjust really easy so you can raise or lower the tail for better angle of attack, which was one of the things I asked them to do when they were designing it. As far as the weight not sure the difference but Ill take all the extra weight back there I can get. I’ve been to the manufacturing facility and it’s first class operation.
my 2 cents

Thanks Chuck. The stinger does look robust and I like your comment on the adjustment for AOA.
From another website on a similair discussion:Acme is 6.8 to 7.2 lbs., Airframes is 5 to 5.5 for single shock. A set of heavy leaf springs and clamp is 6.5 lbs.

Hi Dan,
Give us a call or shoot us an email if you have any further questions on the Stinger. California Cubs is the Acme dealer for all CubCrafters branded aircraft and would be happy to help you get one on order!

I have an original T3 and have now installed the upgrade kit. (This was strongly advised by a friend last year due to ? failures of some of the original components?)
The upgrade pieces are definitely more robust and now overall less fasteners as they have a one piece swingarm instead of the original made of three pieces.
My original was fantastic and this upgrade performs very well also.
If you have an original T3 you may want to get the upgrade.

Per the website:
T3 Tailwheel Suspension Upgrade Kit
This kit will upgrade your existing single shock T3 to our new Revision 2 model.
We've listened to our customers and created a stiffer, stronger and better rebounding suspension at the same weight as the original.
Improvements:
-Wider clamping area, fewer fasteners, and a simplified, stiffer design
-Solid aluminum swingarm for durability
-All-new shocks that are twice as strong with improved valves for smoother rebounding
I put a T3 on my EX. I had a Pawnee spring and a custom attach bracket I’d made for it. The two weighed 5 pounds. The Carbon Cub version of the T3, with a single cylinder and spring weighed 5.5 pounds.

You are going to love it. Same here on the weights; my stock two leaf form CC was 5 lbs. T3 weighed in at 5.5 lbs, an extra half pound of shear bliss!

First flight yesterday with the T3. I love it. I resisted for a long time because I always wheel land and thought it was unnecessary. I was wrong. What a difference.

An added benefit for me is during taxi. Our taxi ways have 'a few' tar snakes and the T3 just sucks them up and cruses right over them.
