I've used it in several locations. It works well, but like any mount on the Carbon Cub jello can occur at some engine RPM settings.

    regards. Carl

Any mount placing the camera at the end of an "arm" is going to vibrate like a pendulum. Vibration is depended on the length of the arm, RPM of the engine and position on the airplane.

In the CC any any attachment to the struts has a great deal of vibration. The struts do a lot of bouncing depending on RPM.

The quietest part of the Carbon Cub in my experience is the outer wing panel. Since I have an AOA system on my CC I don't need the stall warning vane. I have used the stall warning mounting area on the wing leading edge to secure a GoPro with a custom flat mount enclosing the camera in Sorbothane. I am now able to take vibration free video with this set up (4K, 24fps) at 1,800 engine RPM. Even with this setup advancing the throttle higher than 2,000 RPM will gradually introduce vibration artifact in the video

Here is an example of the video shot from this location in the CC. This video is in 4K. If you have the equipment (4k monitor and a very fast internet connection) you can view this video in 4K resolution by selecting the "gear" icon in the lower right corner of the You-Tube viewer and select "Quality = 2160p".

Hi Carl Yes I use these mounts which help alot but does not eliminate the jello. That said i just received the attached mounts from Ryan Mohr, thanks to his father John Mohr's recommendation ( yes the John Mohr amazing Stearman arirshow man) He says it totally eliminates the Jello so I will advise when I have a chance to try it. It also mounts on the Inflight mounts. Best Gary

Gary, I just ordered a wing strut setup also. I get the jello affect with the cubcrafters mount also, hopefully this will eliminate that problem. I'll post some results when I get back in the air.

I got the Vibex at AirVenture last summer. No joy. Mounted it in several locations on the struts. Works best with the Drift camera since the mount on the Drift allows it to be flush on the mount rather than on a stalk for the GoPro.
