You will need to ensure that there is a proper bond between the deck and the fuselage. We clean the powder-coat from the top of the mounts at the aft end of the deck. The next bond is between the deck and the antenna and that is through the mounting hardware.

For a good bond, you want to see 30 milliohms or less. Keep in mind that this is not a number that can be obtained from a standard multi-meter because they are not capable of reading that low. We have an ExTech milliohm meter that we use here in our shop.

i just finished installing the ADS B and thanks to Matt's good guidance it went well.

I opted to mount the GPS 20 under the transponder. Details are posted at my build blog.

When we started looking for a place to mount the 20A, we had considered this location. I had to look elsewhere when I remembered that this is where the factory mounts the GDL 39R.

Actually both the GDL 39 and 20A fit very nicely below the transponder.

Just finished having a GDL39R and a GPS20A installed By the back up battery. Sorry, no pictures.
Had my GTX330 sent to Garmin for upgrade to ES.
Everything works perfectly with my G3X.
This was stupid expensive ---- total was $5,783.24 including all parts, labor and the transponder upgrade.
Ah well, it's just money and I can't take it with me.
I wanted this to keep abreast of the latest greatest transponder, ATC Next Gen technology.
Now The Government can track me anywhere I go.

By the way, the push on connectors on the back up battery were both loose (off) when we started the install.
Those connectors should not be used in an aircraft.
Push on connectors will work loose and fail under vibration.
Bad design!
Check yours often.

Did you do the work yourself and did you request an ADS-B Compliance Report from the FAA? If not, I suggest requesting one so that you know your system is configured correctly as well as having a record of compliance in case you need to prove it in the future. The e-mail address is available from the ADS-B page on their website.

Also, what method did you use to fix the terminals on the B/U battery?
