looks fantastic. does anyone have an opinion about paint guns. Do I need to buy a $275 gun for poly-spray or will an $80 one work for primers? the last airplane I painted was late '70's.

The ploybrush/spray/tone products are very easy to spray. However, you are building a 150k airplane and I wouldn't want you to regret buying the cheapest gun. You don't need top of the line but don't go harbor freight either. There is a good section on painting in the forum. It has some good tips on selecting a good setup.

DONE PAINTING!! I shot my final coat of paint tonight. Between primer, poly brush/spray/top coat and trim coat I painted 45 different times on this project. The cabin door was the most difficult with five different colors! I wish I had enough space to keep everything at home so I could paint in batches. With my limited space each piece becomes an individual project. I think my next cub will be yellow, that would save me about 10 trips to the paint booth!!

What was the fifth color on the door? I counted four.

what paint did you use on the inside of the door for the black and gray? PPG DUHS? Looks great.

i am done as of ttoday except for the window, which will wait until they are fitted after the wings are on. You are right about it being tedious and lots of trips to the paint booth.
