    Question AOSS Paint Protection

Has anybody tried a paint protection film on the forward side of their AOSS gear? My gear is getting a lot of paint chips. I'll probably have the gear repainted and would like to reduce the chipping.

    Roger,

I'm still building and I'm planning on putting it on my AOSS. I don't see why it would be a problem. It's held up perfectly on the front of my car for the last 10 years. I think the key is to have perfectly clean surface to stick it to.

I have seen both the clear (like what is used around the door frame) and black peel and stick rock guard materiel used there and it seems to hold up well.

Just go to eBay and search "3M paint protection film". Lots of options.

Pretty sure this is 3M Polyurethane Protective Tape 8674. Can be bought clear and I think black also. Aviation supply houses carry it. I've bought it from Aircraft Spruce.
