Today I thought I would learn more about torque seal. I've torque sealed nuts on the spar of my first wing IAW the Wing Manual. I was a helicopter pilot so I've preflighted around lots of stuff that was torque sealed for obvious reasons. I used the picture graphic in the Manual as the method I should use in application. It shows torque seal over the threads. I checked EAA video to find that it is not good practice to torque seal over threads. This makes removal difficult and often causes thread damage to the extent that the bolt may need to be cut off. I don't expect to ever remove those bolts but I'm curious about the technique.
