    Default rudder horn wear

I am wondering if anyone has experienced their rudder horn wearing where the springs attach? If so is there a solution such as putting small eye bolts in to attach the springs to? Which size and grade should a person be using?

Is this a CC11 with the welded on rudder horn or a bolted in aluminum rudder horn on a early CC11 or PA18/CC18?

I have not seen significant wear on the welded steel ones. We have a couple of planes here that have 1100+ hours on them that still look pretty good.

With the bolt-on aluminum rudder horn it is pretty common to see eye bolts in the holes to hook the rudder springs to. I have not seen it done on the steel horn but it might work. The ends of the horn have plenty of edge distance, you could ream it and tack bushings in as well perhaps.
