Next week is my grandson Paxton 7th birthday. For the first time Im not going to be in town for his cake, so I wanted to do something special for him. Beside the elementary school that he attends is a hayfield of a former dairy farm. Its not great, its uphill and slopes both ways, with a side hill and a couple ditches. I got permission from the old farmer to land there on skis to pick him up and give him a ride home after school. . Got the cub into the field after a couple of passes, which served to light up the neighborhood folk. Uneventful landing and taxi up to the school. I made a sign like a limo driver who waits for you at the airport, and stood outside. Turned out great, he thinks he is a rock star now. good thing I checked with the school secretary, as they got several calls about a plane landing at the school, something must be going down.Good grief.
Happy birthday Paxton, only in a Carboncub!

Ok, time for some ski fun. Plenty of ice in the Adirondacks so let's meet for breakfast at Speculator at 9:30 Sunday morning. Looks like a CAVU day. I think its good for wheeled guys also as very little snow. I have my scout Jeff getting ready to go out and give a wheel report this afternoon but pretty sure it's fine. After breakfast we can explore the rest of the Dacks. Gas is available along the way on some lakes, 91 efree and 100L.
