    Default Lift hooks

Is it possible to add lift hooks to our CC-11's that came without, and if so what is the procedure?

    Happy Thanksgiving,

    Glenn

You must have an early Sport Cub, I'm pretty sure CC11 airframes since at least 2009, which would include all Carbon Cubs, have the lifting rings. They can likely be retrofitted, give CC a call and ask for Stan Franz or Jeff Glab, either should be able to answer that definitively.

    Thanks Randy,
Yes I do have an early S2, 2007 #52. I will follow up with the boys in Yakima.

You should have no problem adding float lift rings to an earlier CC11. You will have to either cut out your front wing root panel for them to protrude through or replace it with a new one with the cut outs.

You'll need two each of p/n SC10210-001. You'll probably also need two each of the longer bolts, p/n AN5-15A. Adam Moore in Parts Sales can help you with that.

Yes you can add lift rings. I did so on my SportCub, #29.

Who ever does the installation of the lift rings must be very careful when cutting the skylight holes for the lift rings. Patience required so nothing cracks.

Glenn, I found the safest way to cut out the slot in the skylite for the lift hooks was to use a step drill and drill holes that line up with the curved end of the slots then you have simple straight cuts to the outside of that hole to create a u-shaped slot. Clean up the edges carefully with a fine file and sandpaper.
