Default Pilosophical question...and a pretty video

First of all...here's a video to pay y'all back for your suggestions. No, I didn't make it:

So...I feel like maybe I am too risk averse. While I understand flying up canyons need to be explored lest one finds a box that boxes one, and one needs to be sure that there aren't wires over rivers if one flys low...I really can't bring myself to fly much lower than 6-700 feet agl. The thought of losing an engine worries me. Am I too risk averse? I live on St. George Island in Floida, and i have miles of beaches...and close to where I fly out of, the beaches are both pretty broad and nobody is on them. Would y'all cheerfully fly 100 feet off the water there? How often do our cubs lose their engines? Mine has been quite reliable, but, well, I guess I am a wimp.

Do you guys do low stuff ala the video above? Am I missing out on something? I hearby issue a blanket indemity for anyone who encourages me to be less risk averse...from me and all my heirs and such.

    What do you guys do?

    Jim

Jim: Much of that was filmed here where I live... He has another video with Judith River in the title. That is right here. If I couldn't do these sorts of things, I wouldn't be flying. When you are ready and comfortable, you won't be able to stop yourself. You have the best aircraft made for this type of low and slow. Enjoy... allow yourself to explore. Ralph

I have always felt the supercub is one thing mankind got right the first time but that there were better materials and methods to build them. CubCrafters products are proof I was right.

Jim, beautiful video and the music is perfect for it. What camera setup are you using?

Steve that's one of the best videos ever! I need to start making Carbon Cub videos. I've made numerous Gyrocopter flying videos in the past. I've owned several and have over a 1000 hours in gyros. Heres one of many I have on youtube. Does not compare to the quality of yours but I love making them.

Wow what a great video. I designed and manufacture that mount for Cubcrafters. That is one of the nicest videos I have seen in a long time using my mount. I have another that goes along with this thread from a Bearhawk running a canyon. There is a bit more vibration in this video as Mike is working the throttle on and off quite a bit to make the tight turns thus sending vibration into the airframe a bit more than usual. Anyhow its a fun video and in the end you cna see a Coyote freak out form the low pass...

Anyone interested in a mount for anything other than a Cubcrafter aircraft feel free to PM me.

    Take care,

    Marc
