    Default Ads-b

Has anyone added ADS-B to the GDU 375 (G3X) in the old Exec Panel? If so, how?

Just add a Garmin GDL88 for about $6000 to $7000 and you will have both ADS-B in and out.
i haven't done it yet but am about to.
    Has anyone here upgraded?

A GDL 39 will get you ADSB in and a lot cheaper too if you don't need the out.

True, but then someone will need to spend the money before 2020 when full in and out is mandated.
In the meantime you will miss the benefits of ADS-B out.
Maybe in a couple of years there will be a cheaper solution than Garmin.

By 2020, I am hoping to have the next great aircraft from Cubcrafters!!!!!! Until then, I think the Garmin GDL39 for ADS-B should at least improve over the ZAON I have.

That sounds like a great plan!
For me, at my age, I had better buy now because there may not be another great plane from CubCrafters.

I have a Garmin GDL-39R and a GTX23-ES for my G3X. Both are remote mounted with external antennas. I'm 2020 compliant and have both ADS In and Out. Free weather and traffic.

I'm afraid you're not, unless the GPS in the G3X is IFR certified. You're g2g till then, though.

John, what are you using for your GPS source to be "out" compliant for 2020.

I have a 430w sending position to trig mode s transp. Efis is AFS 5600 with free flight adsb in. This is 2020 compliant.
There is an excellent thread on vans Air Force under the glass cockpit category. Title is faa adsb avionics system check. Start at the beginning. It was started by an FAA adsb rep and gives you info on how to check your adsb system.
i have compliant adsb in both my cub and rv 10. Know enough to be dangerous if I can help.
i did note earlier in this thread that there is an assumption made you will get traffic with adsb in. Not true unless you have an adsb out device. Lots of misleading info out there on adsb.
