Default Small triangles on left wing strut

Hey I was looking at a friends cub and saw it has about 30 small triangle stickers on the left wing strut

    What are they for?

Was it a Sport Cub or Carbon Cub? We would do that sometimes to keep the aileron cable from buzzing. Little VG's to breakup the airstream around the strut and then over the cable.

What's the N-number? I probably put them on there. The left would always resonate more than the right. Only occurred on some of the birds, and only at certain angles of attack relative to the speed and forward motion of the plane. Yank 'em off and see what happens. I just always hated to see the cable slapping out there. I think it was a product from Aircraft Spruce. Came on a roll.

I've had the aileron actuator struts on a New Standard D-25 do something very similar due to angle of attack at certain weights and power settings causing them to vibrate. We had to take welding rod and tape it to the inside face of the strut to breakup the airflow. If I had had the little VG's easily accessible I would have used them instead. Great little trick.

Thanks not sure of the N reg.

    But was super cool.
    Think you must be right.

Do you know where I can get those triangle flat vortex stickers?

    Aircraft Spruce
    WagAero
Any other experimental aviation supply house

Those would be the ones to check.
