Default Windmills in the fog (pic).

    photo (2).jpg

Returning to Yakima from an airshow this morning I snapped this picture of the electrical generating windmills along the Columbia River rotating in and out of the low cloud cover. Just one of those things you see low and slow in a Cub that was worth sharing.

When I was returning from Yakima with my new CarbonCub 8457R in January, I had a similar stunning view of the Windmills as I went over the Columbia River Gorge. It was really eerie seeing those huge Blades slowly churning thru the fog.... as you can see I took a bit more cautious altitude over head than you did!

And.... as a complete opposite picture of windmills and fog, here is a great shot of 289CC taken from my plane, in front of the arid and dry, but beautiful Monument Valley in Arizona/Utah!

    Hi Rick,

It sure is eye catching watching those huge blades rotating in and out of the fog, it would have been great video if I had had a camera mounted. Thanks also for pointing out the altitude issue. I should have added that in my picture I was running along the edge of the fog bank and what you can't see in the composition of the picture that I posted is that the surface was clear to the west of my aircraft. Running low over clouds wouldn't be something I would want to encourage.
