Not yet. We have one set of final prototypes only that was shown at Sun N Fun. We'll post some pics as soon as we have the first production units done.

    OE Front - Fabric +1.4lbs $750 $1,400
    OE Front - Leather +1.8lbs $1,250 $1,900
    OE Aft - Fabric +3.2lbs $750 $990
    OE Aft - Leather +3.5lbs $1,050 $1,290

Since the OE seats yield a weight penalty, CSCs have asked if they can be added post-cert, and the answer is yes. So, if you're scratching to make 902 lbs. on your pre-cert SLSA, but plan to add equipment and recertify ELSA, we can add your OE seats post-cert. Of course you will pay the "Option" price not the higher "Retrofit" or "Upgrade" price.

Earlier in this string Jeff Glab posted a table including prices and weights. I've added the preliminary weight increase for the rear OE seat. Please note, this is preliminary only and may change after Engineering weighs the actual production seats.

Seats looked good at Sun-N-Fun. How am I going to fly when my seat will have to be sent back to the factory? No exchange?

We are working on an exchange program which would be legal with ELSA aircraft but not SLSA. Jeff Glab will be managing all seat retrofits so you might stay in touch with him.... jeff.glab@cubcrafters.com

We've finally got some shots of the new OE seats. These are the OE "Mordura" fabric... very nice. They are also available in leather. Note that the short lumbar support rear cushion may be unzipped and removed from the aft seat.

I wouldn't wish to put anyone off this upgrade but the cost as well as shipping the seat to/from New Zealand and resulting downtime made this a non starter so I had a quick look at alternatives.

I've used the AirHawk seat on my motorcycle for tens of thousands of miles and while not perfect it certainly eases "numb bum" syndrome. YMMV of course.

The square "Large Pillion" size seems to fit my aircraft (and bottom) is a good deal cheaper than the retrofit, weighs next to nothing and requires no approvals.

I bought mine from here but there are stockists all over the world.
