One of our fellow Carbon Cub EX builders came to the Factory and watched us assemble wings for a couple of days. Theo was especially interested in the way we installed the leading edge skins. He went back home and started building the same kind of skin clamps that we use at the factory. He is now done with his skins and has donated the clamps to the builders pool.
Notice in the previous pictures Theo has used a piece of PVC pipe and foam to hold the nose ribs straight while the skins are being installed. BE CAREFUL NOT TO PULL TO HARD, IT IS POSSIBLE TO BEND THE NOSE RIBS. Pull the clamps just tight enough to remove any slack from between the rib and the skin. The picture below shows the perfect fit. MAKE SURE THE RIBS ARE STRAIGHT AND NOT BENT BEFORE INSTALLING THE RIVETS.
